Paul Hanley in conversation with John Robb at Louder Than Words Festival, Manchester. They discuss Paul's book Leave The Capital, a refashioning of the story of Manchester music through the prism of two recording studios, Strawberry and Pluto, which Hanley argues were pivotal in the creation of what the world now sees as the Manchester sound by freeing the city's musicians from the control of the Londoncentric music business. In turn, credit is paid to the founders of the studios, veterans of the sixties bands The Mindbenders and Herman's Hermits, songwriter Graham Gouldman and 10cc.
