Charting the life of a colliery-sponsored football team that rose against all-the-odds to bring home the ultimate prize of the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup, the local equivalent of the FA Cup. It’s a tale that could have come straight out of the pages of a comic book, but is in fact, all true. It engrosses the reader as it follows the fortunes of a group of men that worked hard and played even harder! With plenty of quotes and pictures to enjoy, including all the facts and figures from the many campaigns the team played, this is highly recommended reading.
